Beyonce

Legend. Icon. Visionary. Loved by both fans and critics alike, Beyonce is the most important female artist of the past decades. Rising to fame as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child, one of the best selling girl groups of all time, Beyonce has revolutionized the idea of pop and R&B music. Journalist Jody Rosen describes Beyonce’s voice as, “one of the most compelling instruments in popular music.” Rosen also notes that 90’s hip hop highly influenced Beyonce’s unique rhythmic voice style, but her voice is still perfect for traditional balladry, gospel and falsetto.

Beyonce is also famous for being one of the greatest live performers of all time. Her countless performances at Coachella, the Super Bowl, and Billboard Awards have been considered some of the most iconic shows of all time. As a vocalist and dancer, Beyonce has it all, making her the greatest living performer since her main source of inspiration, Michael Jackson. When she paid tribute to the King of Pop with her costume during the 2016 Super Bowl, it was never more evident whose throne she’d inherited.
