Trig Tandon

By Mia Hanuska

Walking into room 65, students are greeted warmly by physics and computer science teacher Anupama Tandon and her bright smile. As students find their seats, they may take a second to admire Tandon’s colorful outfits. I was lucky enough to score an interview with Tandon about her fashion just the other day.

Tandon loves wearing bright colors, especially in her shirts. She dislikes V-necks, but gravitates toward round–and crewneck shirts, along with polos in unique styles. She loves shirts that are a little different—not just basic colors or prints, but something with a special touch, whether that be embroidery or a hem detail. In the winter, students will find Tandon cozied up in a bright sweater, keeping her warm and happy in the chilly weather. These bright tops are usually paired with a simple pair of pants or shorts, allowing the shirt to be the main focus of the outfit.

For shoes, she cares solely about comfort, not style. She’s on her feet a lot, lecturing during class and checking in with students, and uncomfortable shoes simply don’t cut it. Typically her outfits will be nice, and her shoes stay plain for the sake of versatility.

Tandon greatly enjoys accessorizing with watches and sunglasses. Time plays a large role in her life, thus, she has a large analog watch collection so she can choose which one will coordinate with her outfit best. Only metal watches of course; leather and plastic simply won’t do. As for sunglasses, she’s very fond of them and has a multitude of pairs.

Finally, this physics teacher adores her short hair—it’s much easier to take care of and maintain. Although during COVID times she grew it out, it was too much work and she eventually chopped it back to her iconic short style. She also finds that short hair suits her better than long.
