Delaney Does Stuff!

By Delaney Pound

This summer, going into senior year, I have come up with a list of goals and fun activities I would like to do. The summer of 2026 will be my last full summer at home, and I want to make the most of it. Without further adieu… Here are my goals!

  1. Get first place in at least one softball tournament

In the fall of 2025, my team got first place in a tournament for the first time since I had been on my team. We usually do quite well in our tournaments, but end up getting either second or third place. During the summer, most of us were 16 playing against 18 to 20-year-olds; however, this year we are going to be playing in 18U tournaments since our team is old enough this year. Anyways! I love my team a lot, and I’m very very very excited to start playing travel ball again!

  1. Hang out with my people more!

I feel like during the summer, I spend most of my time either playing softball or rotting in my bed catching up on the sleep I was deprived of for the last nine months. I love hanging out with my people a lot, so I would love to make up for lost time and the time I won’t have in the following summers to spend as much time with everyone as possible.

  1. Get my money up not my funny up

I am hoping and praying that I will be able to work a lot at my job so I have more freedom to do things with my friends and family. I enjoy going to work a lot so I hope I continue to enjoy it and I can be ballin’ before summer ends. I know I might get a little burnt out from having a busy schedule during the summer, so I will definitely be prioritizing my mental health instead of packing my work schedule.

  1. Go get food with Kira (she made me do this)

I love Kira Yurchenko! I want to hang out with my best bud more because she is just a baby! I love her!

  1. Explore new places!

I have been wanting to go on hikes and roadtrips with my friends for a very long time, and this is the summer we will finally do it! I love discovering new places and taking pictures of everything I want to remember. Since I play travel softball, I usually see more places than I do during the school year. We are going to Portland at the end of July, and I will be taking the opportunity to find new spots and see more of the world!
