Matcha Protein Smoothie

By Juliette Guyman

Every morning, I wake up yearning for the refreshing Matcha Peach Protein Smoothie from Peet’s Coffee. Unfortunately, this is before I realize that the winter menu is officially over and my favorite smoothie is no longer available. Instead of crying about this tragedy or spending seven dollars on a small smoothie when it returns to the Peet’s menu, I have created a super-easy, incredibly delicious—and, in my opinion, better—homemade version of my favorite smoothie.

Recipe

A handful of frozen peaches (as much or as little as you would like!)

Half of a large frozen banana

A teaspoon of matcha (ceremonial or culinary grade works)

About a cup of milk of your choice

One serving of protein powder (I use plant-based vanilla protein powder, but other types of protein or flavors could be used as a substitute)

If you like matcha, this smoothie is definitely for you. Some extra tips I would add are to use frozen fruit for the best consistency, and a protein powder that complements the flavors rather than conflicts. Lastly, depending on your desires, some extra add-ins could include yogurt, avocado, honey, or any other fruit of your choice. Enjoy the best smoothie you will ever have!
