When did you start swimming competitively?
“Freshman year.”
What event do you enjoy swimming the most?
“It’s between two. I’d say the 50-meter freestyle and the 100-meter freestyle. The 50-meter—if you’re good at it—you can swim the entire way without breathing. Or just on one breath. And then for the 100-meter, you can build up the first 50-meters, and second 50, go all out. I’m good at freestyle. I HATE breaststroke.
What is your favorite thing about swimming?
“The atmosphere. It’s a giant pool party.”
What has been your most memorable experience with swimming?
“Ater a meet, we’d go to Pizza My Heart, and just talk. It was fun. If you’d like something team-wise, relays were fun as well.”
Do you have a pre-comp routine?
“Just usually warming up, I don’t do any special thing.”
What are you excited about this season?
“Losing every single match because we’re in the A League! No, seeing how the team morale is gonna be because we’re in A League, and how the meets are gonna turn out.”
Do you see a future in swimming?
“No, I’m not good enough. I do it recreationally, but probably not in college.”
What’s your favorite food?
“Rocky’s chicken tenders from Costco. The bag’s yellow, and the mascot is a chicken in cowboy boots.”
What’s your favorite class?
“Photo 2 with Rachel Bradley.”
What’s your favorite post-swim meal?
“Pizza My Heart.”
Anything to say to the readers of The Shield?
“Join the team! You don’t have to be good, and it’s a good way to exercise without putting too much pressure on your body. It’s better than track.”
