You Ground Me

By Gavin Bowyer

I remember your smile, steady even on the hardest days
I remember your voice, soft enough to calm me everytime
I remember your hands, always guiding, never pushing

You ground me, when my thoughts run too fast
You ground me, when life feels heavy
You ground me, and I find my balance again

Even though I mess up, you stay patient
Even though we argue, you still show up for me
Even though I grow older, you still help me stand tall

And I remember you,
Everytime my feet hit the ground.
