Gloom to Glisten

By Logan Whiteson

I used to love to dance
I’d partake at every chance
My body moving wild and free
Never sinking in a solemn sea
Time went on and I started to hide
The spontaneous part of me inside

My little spirit left taken and abused
Hoping one day to finally be reused
Months and months stuck in prison
Hoping for passion to one day glisten
For months the dark clouds gloomed
As my light was continuously consumed

It rained day after day
Keeping in the words I had to say
Away blew the clouds
And in came the friendly crowds
Dancing with a smile on my face
No more pain left to trace
