Just Keep Sprinting

Westmont’s on the run to compete at the league meet on October 23rd, while the regular cross country (or in short, XC) season ends on the same day. Westmont’s cross country team consists of 12 returning varsity players, 4 persevering varsity seniors, and about 50 diligent runners on the road to success. Team captain Hannah Crowley shares her most nightmarish feat: any race at Montgomery Hill. The hill is described as the hardest course of all of California, with 2.67 miles of sweat and dry grass, and an emphasis on ‘hill’—there are no flats. “Run anybody on Montgomery Hill who’s never ran it before and they will not finish without walking,” says Hannah herself. On the contrary, Hannah is looking forward to her first time running CCS, although not her first time qualifying. Whilst qualifying her previous two years, Hannah had gotten injured right before CCS both times, and carries on a positive attitude toward running Crystal Springs as a very healthy Hannah.
