Ranking Halloween Candy

By Sophie Tuan

  1. Reeses – Any sort of Reeses is undoubtedly the best candy to get on halloween (unless you’re allergic to peanuts). The perfect ratio of chocolate and filling every time!
  1.  Crunch Bars – A close second, but Crunch Bars just don’t have the same nostalgia as Reese’s Pieces. They are delicious and the flavor is well balanced—overall a top choice.
  1. Pop Rocks– These little firecrackers are so fun to eat and bring me back to my younger days. The assortment of flavors makes eating each pack an adventure.
  1. Yorks – Although the minty flavor isn’t for everyone. Yorks taste so refreshing and the mint filling balances out the sweet chocolate shell.
  1. Skittles – Skittles are a staple Halloween candy, but they just aren’t super special. All the flavors taste the same; they are never the best thing in the candy bag.
  1. M&Ms – Another basic Halloween candy. There is nothing bad about M&Ms but also nothing amazing about them–a mid tier choice.
  1. Nerds (including gummy clusters) – The nerds you get on Halloween are always super stale and impossible to chew. They are never very appetizing and just don’t compare to the other candies.
  1. Gummy Candy – Usually gummies are delicious but on Halloween the ones that get dropped in children’s bags are either melted or hard as a rock. These candies forever live at the bottom of the bag.
  1. Milk Duds – Does anyone even like these? Milk Duds only ever appear on Halloween with their jaw breaking abilities and yucky taste.
  1. Candy Corns – Anyone who says they like candy corns must be lying. These horrible candies are pure sugar and food coloring with a disgusting aftertaste.
