Dudududu… It’s marching band and color guard season again! This year, Westmont’s marching band has around 23 members (with 10 new recruits); color guard, 6. At football games and competitions alike, these spirited students perform their hearts out through music. Last year, the marching band placed 1st in drumline and marching band in quarterfinals, 2nd in semifinals, and 10th in finals in their division for California. Ex-drumline captain Gavin Bowyer emphasizes the “passion and talent” of the band, while also highlighting their need for more members and greater retention rates. As for color guard, captain Kayla Tu is excited for “tossing cool tricks” and is proud of the team for the “accomplishments we’ve each had—whether it’s falling in love with the sport or nailing a toss.” This year’s section leaders are listed below:
