In softball, when you step out on the field, your eyes gaze upon the different cleats clicking on the dirt. Some cleats are notoriously great, some more stylish, and some, just outright awful. Here is my opinion on a few different ones!
Any molded cleat
4/10
Very much 10-U vibe. No thanks! It’s fine if you’re under twelve or have never played softball before, but otherwise… no. They get worn down very quickly so for high school softball players, these aren’t the best option.
Ringors

If you’re a pitcher, these cleats are AMAZING. Usually, cleats only last us a season or two, but the ridges on the toe make them SOOOOO much longer lasting. Yes, they are pricey, but definitely worth it considering you will take much longer to wear them out. Not to mention, they’re comfortable and if you tie them tight enough, they keep dirt out pretty well!
Pretty much any nike cleat
6/10
These are lowkey really bad! They don’t last long AT ALL and when you’re wearing them, they’re very unreliable. Most of the cuts of their cleats give little ankle support, and fill your cleats with the most unpleasant dirt feeling of all time.
Mizuno’s
7/10
Very much hit or miss. Sometimes, these are great, and sometimes they’re not. Definitely depends on the style and color, but for the most part they’re fine.
New Balances
7.5/10
Hmmm! Pretty similar to mizunos. They’re kinda mid, not great, but not terrible either. Very much dependent on the specific style you buy, but they’re solid. Sometimes they’re terrible and don’t last long, but these ones in particular are pretty good.
