Entering room 15, students of all grades will find computer science and IM1 teacher Monica Perez diligently preparing for her classes. Throughout the busy school year, students eventually find themselves appreciating Perez’s stylish fashion and her professional outfits. After spending a year admiring her incredible clothes, I was able to score an interview with the computer science-pro herself.
Perez often sports a simple yet comfortable outfit. Each outfit varies simply through the texture and color—the general structure typically stays the same with a pair of pants and a shirt, or sweater, in the winter. In the summer, her outfits feature dresses—never skirts—to keep cool.
She values comfort highly, and her outfits are structured around them. “I try to be comfortable and check the weather every morning,” the stylish engineer explains. Therefore, she keeps her shoes low to the ground, always wearing flat-soled sneakers or boots. Although she doesn’t particularly follow trends, she dislikes looking outdated, and instead believes that people should always adapt to dress for whatever works for them.
Moreover, she wears many jackets, specifically blazers, as she believes that teachers need to give a good first impression to their students. Thus, she views blazers as respectful yet still casual enough for the classroom environment.
Clearly, Perez’s outfits are truly eye-catching and deserve recognition. The next time you see her around campus, peep the fit—it’s bound to be fashionable!
