Bracelet making: 8/10
Bracelets are super easy to make and they even have kits you can buy at the store! I especially love choosing different color combinations. Even if the bracelet is simple, the variety of hues adds flair and I like how stacking multiple ones looks. My only complaint is that sometimes I drop the string and the beads literally go everywhere…
Earrings: 6/10
Making earrings requires a lot of creativity, which I, unfortunately, ran out of quickly. However, whenever I was in the flow, I was able to crank out a couple of pairs very quickly. Earrings are great gifts for people and highly customizable, but make sure the receiver is not allergic to any metals. The materials are on the expensive side, but Michael’s has a 20% discount coupon that I frequently exploited.
Crocheting: 5/10
Despite the low score, this is the hobby I remain the most loyal to. Coasters, beanies, scarves, gloves—the choices of yarn projects are endless! Moreover, there are hundreds of free YouTube videos and patterns at your disposal. Although I gripe about the imminent threat of carpal tunnel this hobby presents, crocheting gives me the perfect excuse to binge-watch Abbott Elementary, so I can’t complain too much.
Smiski Collector: 15/10
My most expensive hobby, and yet my most rewarding. I love looking at the little figures on my shelf. As Marie Kondo says: they spark joy. In addition to their adorable poses, these little things glow in the dark!
