Westmont Fall Sports Recap

As the fall season comes to an end, Westmont’s talented athletes can finally take a well-deserved break after the intense start to the year. Reflecting on our six successful sports, Westmont is proud of all of its athletes!

Girls Waterpolo:

Record: Overall 4-12 and League 1-5

MVP: Maya Bourne

Captains: Dharma McInturff, Sofia Chappars

Thoughts on the season? 

“I think the season was challenging but I’m very grateful to be the last of the original team and proud that we worked our way from not being in a league to A league for my final year and I’m very proud of our team” – Dharma McInturff

Boys Waterpolo:

Record: Overall 17-7 and League 4-3

MVP: Ethan Bissell

Captains: Gibson Chase, Ethan Bissell, Giuseppe Cusmano

Thoughts on the season? 

“I think the season went really good because we found ourselves working together as a team and achieving the goals we had set for ourselves.” – Arthur Koeppen

Cross Country:

Record: Boys and Girls both made it to CCS!

MVP: Adrian Ketterer, Hannah Crowley 

Captains: Carter Cormier, Hannah Crowley

Thoughts on the season?

“New friends and new PRs is what cross country is all about! Our hard workouts balanced with funny chats on easy runs made this season so memorable and is what has gotten me through the hard days all the way to CCS. Love you guys!” – Hannah Crowley

Girls Volleyball:

Record: Overall 21-9  and League 11-3

MVP: Audrey Jones and Kianna Liggs

Captains: Audrey Jones and Kianna Liggs

Thoughts on the season? 

“Overall the season was great. Even though we didn’t make states our team worked well together and created a really fun season” – Helen Ho

Field Hockey:

Record: Overall 5-8  and League 1-8

MVP: Hailey Kearns

Captains: Lily Bourne, Madeline Crowley, Hailey Kearns

Thoughts on the season? 

“Although the season had its ups and downs, we tried our best. Throughout the season we made memories and grew as a team in our skills and all.” – Delaney Pound

Girls Tennis:

Record: Overall 10-1  and League 10-0

MVP: Ailee Mano

Captains: Rochelle Lai, Hewan Tefari

Thoughts on the season? 

“This season was pretty good and  we were undefeated 10-0 in our league!” – Hewan Tefari

Football:

Record: Overall 5-5 and League 2-3

MVP: Spencer Hoang

Captains: Matthew Taylor, Luke Castlemen, Spencer Hoang

Thoughts on the season? 

“Our season didn’t go as planned but we still fought hard and built a family by the end” – Anthony Reynolds
