Two Time Champs Return: Girls Soccer

By Hailey Kearns and Cami Yee

Coming off of yet another league championship, Westmont girls soccer has high aspirations for this upcoming season. With 11 returning varsity players, the team is excited to welcome new players as well as a new coach. The new varsity coach, Kat Comensana, has a history of athletic excellence, playing with the Peruvian Women’s National Team just last month. The team hopes to roster 20 on varsity this year and is playing in the Santa Teresa West league, competing with teams like Lincoln and Willow Glen. The girls cannot wait for another unforgettable season and hope to score big since they have the chance to become league champions for the third season in a row. Excitedly exclaims Averi Halbert, a junior on varsity, “I am excited to have team bondings and eat dinner together!” Their next preseason game is scheduled for December 3rd against Mountain View High School.
