Darlin’ Daisy

By Julia Kemp

If you think you know who the most fabulous student at Westmont is, think again, because I guarantee that it’s Daisy Gant. A Freshman this year, Daisy is involved at Westmont through her dedication to theater and the dance team. States Daisy about her favorite thing at Westmont: “my favorite thing about Westmont is all the fun events we have where we can meet more people and get more involved with the school with sports games, dances, rallies, etc.” Like many at Westmont, Daisy is extremely passionate about funding for the arts. Daisy encourages Westmont to “fix the lack of funding for the dance team and (believes that) the team should get more recognition!” Below is an exclusive interview with the incredible Daisy:

What activities do you do at Westmont?

At Westmont, I am on the Dance Team, a little in Theater, and I’m currently partaking in BOTC lip sync!

What do you enjoy about each of these activities?

For theater, I enjoy the opportunities we can get that will be helpful for our everyday life after we graduate; and how we can meet new people. In the Dance Team, I love being able to perform in front of an audience when doing the thing I am passionate for and creating bonds with all the members I love on the team. Lastly, for Lip Sync, I enjoy getting to experience a fun activity with my peers that will be with me for these four years.

What are some of your hobbies/things you enjoy doing outside of school or in your free time?

Some things I enjoy doing in my free time are dancing, nail art, vinyl shopping, reading, and spending quality time with my friends and being able to go on adventures with them to experience new things.

Favorite thing about Westmont?

My favorite thing about Westmont is all the fun events we have where we can meet more people and get more involved with the school with sports games, dances, rally’s, etc.
