In honor of the second semester of school and our lower motivation to get out of the door in the mornings, we’ve decided to rank our favorite breakfast food that takes a quick 3 minutes to pour, eat, and leave for school – cereal! Here our are top 10 favorites:
- Cheerios Cinnamon Oat Crunch
The well kept secret of Cinnamon Oat Crunch must be revealed to the world of cereal lovers! This flavor of cheerios is notoriously hard to find in stock but definitely deserves #1 at the top of our list. If you are one of those people that tends to pour themselves a bowl in the process of rushing out the door, but then forget about it and 10 minutes later when you come back to finish it, the cereal has gone soggy and gross? Then Cheerios Cinnamon Oat Crunch is the perfect match for you! Its delicious sweet honey coating makes it practically impossible to get soggy and the little oat chunks provide for extra flavor and crunch!
- Special K – Chocolatey delight
You truly can’t go wrong with any Special K! There are so many flavors to choose from but we prefer the Chocolatey delight flavor, especially served with chocolate milk for an extra flavor effect!
- Life
What can I say… life is just our life! Nothing compares to its cinnamony sweet goodness! Unpopular opinion…? This is one of the few cereals that is better once soaked in milk to the point of sogginess.
- Special K – Fruit and Yogurt
While claiming to be generally healthy and named “fruit and yogurt”, your mom may jump to buy this cereal in the hopes that it is both good for you and tastes good! In your luck, it has many health benefits and it still has lots of sugars so the flavor is top notch! Tricked by the name the cereal tastes less like actual yogurt but more similar to white chocolate.
- Honey Bunches of Oats
The Classic Honey Bunches of Oats go unmatched to any other cereal. I think we all feel as if we grew up with this one and the flavor is permanently ingrained in our memories! In particular the texture of this cereal is one of the best as the clumps of oats incorporate the ideal crunch. The honey bunches of oats with almonds is another delicious addition to the honey bunches collection.
- Raisin Bran Crunch
To all of the raisin haters out there this one’s not for you. Raisin Bran tops at number 6 because it never fails to keep us full even after only one bowl and its sugar-covered raisins provide a unique flavor to start your day!
- Lucky Charms
This cereal is not only good for Saint Patrick’s day but year round starts your day in the happiest of ways! Looking down at your bowl with green colored milk and small marshmallow charms smiling up at you, it never fails to leave us with a cheesy grin.
- Cinnamon toast crunch
The name of this cereal describes it exactly on point! The delicious crunch and cinnamon flavor in this one are definitely better than most cinnamon cereals and give the effect of eating a churro for breakfast! Last but not least, this cereal certainly gets bonus points as it goes really well crumbled on top of ice cream late at night!
- Frosted Mini Wheats
Another big cereal classic, Frosted Mini Wheats, is disliked by many for its stringy grainy texture, however we both agree the flavorful icing on top is one of the best. We ranked this at number 9 because unlike many of the cereals above it does not taste as good when snacking on it dry. A core memory while eating this cereal is picking out all of the bits that stuck together to make what we called “books” because that is what they looked like.
- Fruit loops
Although we put this cereal at the bottom of our list it can’t go unnoticed as it is a regular favorite of the school lunch line! We believe the taste is unique compared to all of the other cereal flavors but we both dislike that the taste is just a bit too artificial for us.
