Traffic Advisory Committee

By Amelie Arango

After a school-wide survey on the issue of traffic safety at Westmont, a new Traffic Advisory Committee has been created in order to work with both students and parents to increase safety and promote sustainable transportation, such as walking and biking. The Traffic Advisory Committee is working with the San Jose Department of Transportation’s Walk n Roll program, which encourages students to safely walk and bike to school. The goal is to work together to promote safe walking and biking and encourage students and parents who drive to do it safely. As students, it is important that we provide our feedback, as we are the ones that are walking and biking to school every day. As a senior and CUHSD student board member, I want to make a lasting impact by ensuring that students can get to school safely. Meetings will be twice a month at 3 pm in room 35.
