I still recall the good old days
When all we did was laugh and play
When we ran outside in the sun’s rays.
When we ran through the corn maze
When we read your school essays
As you know, I will leave for college which may be ways away
But I promise you, I will be there with you always.
I still recall the good old days
I remember when I taught you piano
I remember when I taught you about the importance of sforzando
I remember when I taught you math and coding
I remember when I taught you history and the importance of voting.
I still recall the good old days
I remember when you taught me how to play Donkey Kong
I remember when you taught me how to make my video game characters strong
I remember when you taught me how to solve the Rubix Cube
I remember when you taught me how to patiently learn new algorithms on Youtube
I remember when you taught me how to forgive
I remember when you taught me how we should not only be alive but live
I remember when you taught me how to love
I remember when you taught me the importance of receiving a hug
I remember when you taught me how to make myself a better me
I remember when you taught me how people are special through their idiosyncrasies.
I remember when you taught me how brotherhood is an iron chain
I remember when you taught me how you will be there for me when I’m in pain
I remember when you taught me how sometimes I will stumble and fall
But you will always hear me call
I understand that you have grown to be strong
I understand that our love will be lifelong
I understand that you will never be just my brother
I understand that you will always be my best friend
I understand that you will be my light in darkness
I understand that you will be my love in hate
I understand that you may stumble and fall
But I will always hear you call
