Growing up, we never went to Taco Bell. Apparently when my dad was a kid, the food was terrible, and he constantly talked bad about it. The first time I ate a Taco Bell taco was at a WEB leader orientation in the 7th grade. I thought, “Hey, this isn’t too bad.” Soon after, I saw countless Instagram posts and commercials about Baja Blasts, a Mountain Dew drink that wouldn’t be sold in stores. I really wanted to try it, as everyone raved about them, but the only place we could get them was at Taco Bell. I remember going through the Taco Bell drive thru solely for a Baja Blast Freeze. From that day on, my life was changed.
If you asked me to describe the taste of Baja Blast, I don’t think I could do it. The internet says the flavor is “tropical lime,” however I can definitely taste more than just that. Although the soda itself is good, the freeze makes the default soda taste bland. The prices for the freeze are slightly ridiculous, with a small at $3.59 and a large at $3.99. However, my favorite time of day is Taco Bell “happier hour”, starting at 2pm and ending at 5pm. During happier hour, you can get any regular sized drink for just $1, and you best bet that I utilize that to my advantage.
It’s safe to say that I have a slight addiction to Baja Blasts, and I highly recommend you try one in your lifetime.
