Now halfway through the season, Westmont’s field hockey team remains determined to clinch a coveted CCS spot. The varsity girls have won eight league games and lost only two, making them the third ranked team in the league. Their most recent win being a staggering six to two victory over Cupertino High as of October fifth. Having only conceded eight goals in league games while scoring an impressive 39, the girls remain hopeful for a successful finish to their already successful season. Senior Minh Thuy Cao elaborates on the enjoyment she receives from her teammates, stating “I think our team is amazing on and off the field and I’m happy to be playing with such wonderful people!” Senior Lindsey Barber adds “we have a lot of raw talent on the field and I think we are going to be successful throughout the second-half of the season.” The girls’ hard-work is beginning to show through their spectacular record and excellent league rank. Come support the varsity field hockey team at their next home game on October 14th against Leigh in the bowl!
