With an impressive 11-4 record, the girls’ water polo team is wrapping up their season on a high note. To get an inside look at their success, senior captain and star player Maya Bourne shared what made this year unforgettable.
How is the season going so far?
Maya: It’s going really well! We’re definitely in a better place than we were last year. An added bonus is that we didn’t lose any players, and we gained a few new great additions. I think we are working really well as a team. As we play more games, we are all learning and improving together.
What was your favorite moment of the season so far?
Maya: My favorite moment of the season so far was probably when we won the Los Gatos game. It was really tough, but I had a lot of fun and really liked being able to celebrate afterwards with teammates!
What are you going to miss the most about Westmont Waterpolo?
Maya: I’m going to miss going to school with my friends and then seeing them after school at practice. Being able to have the knowledge that I get to hang out with my friends after school every day is so comforting.
Thanks, Maya!
