Top Five Phonk Songs of the Month

By Alex Villanueva

#5 MONTAGEM FEARLESS by lirvie, DJ eu4oria, DJ FZ DA ZN, Matra!

Used in transition edits, this song starts calm, with the audio building up to the heavy beat looping over and over again while the sound gets louder and louder, hence why it’s used for transition edits. Some edits using this audio are Tony Stark from Iron Man switching to Dr. Doom, Dr. Banner changing to the Hulk, or even something simpler like an injured athlete coming back after the injury, performing insanely well. This phonk marks the change of something significant or powerful, with our heads vibing to the beat, seeing an epic and strong discipline and motivation from someone moving on from their old self to their new, courageous self. Great song, but it can get repetitive after listening to it for a while.

#4 BREGA DO LOVE by Nxxkz, -Prey, Silo, Mc Gw

A niche phonk song that stands out for a character’s or person’s personality, strengths, abilities, goals, power, and what incredible accomplishments they have done. The beat, audio, and lyrics all tie in really well with each other, reaching our ears with a phonk sound our mind captures quickly and thinks about the greatness of it and how powerful it is, with the response being either our heads swaying back and forth or vibing with our legs going up and down. An example of an edit with this glorious music is clips of Spider-Man saving people and doing remarkable things, or a footballer like Mbappe showing his performance, movement patterns, and the goals he has scored. Amazing phonk by these artists, but unfortunately not as widely known as the others in our list.

#3 VERITY HARDTEKK by shxnei

A meme phonk sound used for the eerie essence of the worrying smiley face entity, Verity, and his creepy and scary behavior as he turns into a tall, yellow humanoid figure with long, skinny limbs. The beat and song flow smoothly with each other, making it seem like something is chasing you as each footstep correlates to the beat, pause, and then beat again, with that pattern getting faster. However, shxnei’s song is not only used for Verity, but it can also be used in edits for other scary or creepy figures or a terrifying event of a character’s doing. Solid 3rd place for this month, as it captures how a certain figure is scary and what frightening things they do—something out of the ordinary, working great for the upcoming Halloween spooks.

#2 MUTILATOR by ZMAJOR, Lurk

In second place, we’ve got “MUTILATOR”, the audio used to make comparisons or to show what powerful characters, objects, abilities,  or anything else a certain topic or subject has. For the first kind of example, you can find new football players like Lamine Yamal or Vinicius Jr. versus old football players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr. to show the crazy difference between the players, how each one has their strengths, and what they were known for—their experience and glory. The other kind of edit is to show what something has and how magnificent it is—for example, Five Nights at Freddy’s, showing the main four animatronics in the edit as they pop out from right to left, demonstrating the legendary characters that FNAF has to offer. The beat flows well with the edit, as each character pops out after each beat you hear; your eyes see how impressive those characters are, and your head vibes to the beat. However, this phonk is not the best of September; that title belongs to another song.

#1 AINSI BAS LA VIDA HARDTEKK by who.i.am

Number one of the month, sampling an already fabulous song, “Ainsi bas la vida by Indila,” adding beats and sounds, and using hardtekk to compose what I call peak, who.i.am delivers one of the internet’s greatest songs for edits. As the audio and lyrics build up to the strongest point in the song, we stand there listening until it hits, marking how magical something can be. This phonk is used in a variety of ways for edits, like to show how strong a character is or how amazing they are, a goal to follow or achieve, a transformation from old to new, improvement, discipline, motivation, the goal to win, and a lot more. This variety makes the song renowned and garners lots of comments, likes, reposts, and shares, as it defines going from something small or a goal to achieving that goal or becoming something significant, with its lyrics leading up to the looping beat and climax of the song. Therefore, from all of these remarkable aspects produced by this amazing phonk, “AINSI BAS LA VIDA HARDTEKK” is the crown for September 2026.
