As the school year starts, a new season of tennis kicks off, and the Westmont sports department welcomes back head coach Paul Slaverio, and JV coach Jeff Poppinga. Unfortunately, after losing the majority of games last season, the girls moved down a league, switching from A-league, to B-league for the 26-27 season. Consequently, the girls will compete against challenging teams like Prospect and Lincoln. With a strong varsity team of 10, and supposedly a JV team of 8 (the roster is in development), the Westmont tennis girls team presents a solid lineup of dedicated and hard-working players. The players are excited to dive into the new season, ecstatic to compete in upcoming matches, and hopefully bring home wins and move the team up to a higher league! Evidently, with a positive mindset, a strong support system, and incredible coaching, it’s guaranteed that this will be an excellent season! Come support the girls at their game against Pioneer at Pioneer on September 17th!
