The Perfect Day

By Cambria Kelly

Prompt: “Hey Chat, plan out the perfect hangout day with my friend!”

Here’s a perfect hangout day to share with any friend.

Start your day with a late morning drink stop. Not too early to be uncomfortable, and just the activity to set the vibes. Get some tasty drinks! Tea or coffee is always a great way to start the hangout. Sit outside if possible—fresh morning air is always great for a nice reset. Do a quick catch-up session before the chaos of the day ensues—get all the life updates and big news! Small talk can be saved for the rest of the day.

Bonus ideas include:

Take dumb candid photos for memories. Who doesn’t like looking back on fun mornings with friends?

Each person orders the other’s drink. I hope you know their tastes…

As you transition into the early afternoon, pick a fun activity to boost your dopamine. Good options include, thrifting, mini golf, arcade, pottery painting, candle making, bookstores, farmers markets, or my personal favorite, hiking! As time goes on you guys will definitely get hungry—don’t just snack all day, get some food in the late afternoon. Shareable items are great if the two of you are chill, but something short and personalizable is great too. Maybe you want to try something new together! The meals can be an activity too—picnic, hotpot, Korean BBQ. I suggest going somewhere that lets you sit for a while without rushing.

Now, to wind down on this amazing day, do something quiet, focusing on each other’s company. Walk around downtown, drive with music, sit at a park, watch the sunset, etc. This part makes the day feel complete, not rushed from one event to the next. Now that you’ve had a day full of fun, you can either split up and go home or maybe make a spontaneous sleepover plan! And honestly? That’s power.
