Super Spectacular Summer Sched!!!

By Cambria Kelly and Rosie Lu

“Bees’ll buzz, kids’ll blow dandelion fuzz

And I’ll be doing whatever snow does in summer

A drink in my hand, my snow up against the burning sand

Probably getting gorgeously tanned in summer!”

-Olaf

To get into that festive mood, we’re beginning by cutting our screen time, because the phones must go to make way for summer splendor! And we’re going to be proactive about it, by using an app called ScreenZen—credits to Cambria for the discovery. Setting limits for ourselves by using a self-regulated app with an interactive interface, this summer we’re trying to make the most of our time, not rot on our phones for hours a day. With less time online and more time to spend doing truly memorable and enjoyable activities. Now! Let’s list a few of those exciting adventures, shall we?

With all the pesky technology out of the way, it’s time to pursue a goal we postponed from last year (we were too indecisive.) We will visit our local Target and sports stores to acquire a pickleball set—that’s right, just two paddles, a few balls, and a dream—and begin our pickleball journey. Why pickleball, you might ask? Easy to learn, playable with two people, instantly gratifying… What’s not to love?

But even though we want to have as much fun as possible this summer, our profit-hungry entrepreneur urges will never fade. The solution is to combine the two: run a booth at a food fair or craft expo, and share our favorite foods with the world. One brilliant idea is—drumroll, please—homemade dango! Now, you may be thinking this is overly ambitious. Making a profit at a food fair full of fantastic innovators, far more experienced than us—that’s set up to be a difficult task indeed. Well, unlike many things we do in life, we aren’t rushing in blindly for this endeavor, as we have already configured our dango recipe and perfected it to our taste testers’ delight. Once we establish a smooth-going stand, perhaps we’ll upgrade, adding a matcha lemonade mix! This is in the far-fetched future, however, so we’ll let you know how it goes.

Now, our final resolution is a bit biased by Cambria here, but it stands equal with the rest! An important event of this summer is the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, scheduled to come to theaters on July 31, 2026. Before this happens, our priority is rewatching the contextual movies for Rosie’s knowledge and Cambria’s indulgence. Although by the time this issue is out, the movie will have long since been released, and we will likely be writing a review in the second issue of this year—look forward to it!
