AOTI: James Doherty

James Doherty is a key contributor for the Westmont baseball team, making an impact both on the mound and at the plate. A varsity player since his sophomore year, James has continued to elevate his game even more this season! He’s been dominant on the mound, with an impressive 1.58 ERA, (Earned Run Average) and 22 strikeouts just over 13 innings pitched this season—an average of more than 15 strikeouts per 9 innings! His abilities on the mound has made him one of the Warrior’s most reliable arms. At the plate, James is just as striking. He currently leads the team with four doubles and a 0.448 slugging percentage, clearly capturing his offensive ability. Whether on the mound or at the plate, James’ all-around performance this season makes him a crucial addition to the team. Read to learn more about James!

When I was 5 years old.

Definitely having fun with my friends.

  1. Who would you thank for your successes in baseball?

I would like to thank my dad for my success.

Taco Bell.

  1. What’s your favorite class?

Manufacturing tech with Peterson.

  1. Goals for this year? as a team and individually?

Goal for the team is to go .500 overall win percentage, and individually I want to have a less than 1 ERA.
