By Sophia Doan and Sadie York

Recipe:

10 tbsp unsalted butter

1 cup sugar

¼ cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

½ cup and 2 tbsp cocoa powder

½ tsp salt

1 tbsp vegetable oil

½ cup flour

¾ cup chocolate chips

Nutella

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Line and grease a 8×8 inch pan. Whisk the melted butter and the two sugars together. Add eggs and vanilla and whisk for 1-2 minutes. Stir in cocoa powder and salt until combined. Mix in oil and fold in the flour. Fold in the chocolate. Spread half the batter into the pan. Swirl in Nutella. Add in the other half. Bake for 40 minutes. Spread out sliced strawberries and drizzle with Nutella.

On a fine Sunday evening, we decided to fulfill our chocolate craving and bake some brownies. However, a plain brownie would not suffice—no, we curated Nutella strawberry dark chocolate chip brownies. Below, we’ve detailed our thoughts and ratings of our culinary creation.

Sadie: 8.5/10

YUM!!

These perfectly gooey, dark chocolate (the best chocolate) brownies paired beautifully with the rich, nuttiness of the Nutella, and tied together by the refreshingly ripe strawberries. I don’t even bake very often but Sophia and I did our big one with these brownies. My sweet tooth was very satisfied, and yet, it wasn’t overly sweet. Overall, these brownies were amazing!

Sophia: 9/10

They were the perfect consistency, with a crackly top and gooey middle. The Nutella and strawberries added a good variety of textures and flavors, while all contributing to the perfect dark chocolate taste. I would absolutely recommend baking these after a long day when you need a pick me up, or when studying for a hard test.
