Splish Splash, They’re as Fast as the Flash!

By Mia Hanuska

Diving into the Spring 2026 season, Westmont’s swim team is busy practicing. With 58 swimmers and 17 returning varsity students, the team is ready for whatever the season throws their way. Last season, the team scored 207.97 and 401.43 points for men and women, respectively, with dual meets giving points incrementally stepping down from 6 (except for 5) for the top 5 individual finishers and relays typically awarding 10, 5, and 3 points for the top three finishing relay teams. Individual and relay scores are then added up to a total school team score. The team’s coaches, Joyce and Jen, have been with them for the past three years, and the team has since seen significant improvements. This season, one captain describes the team’s strength as their “goofy cheer,” while hoping to improve on “showing up on time to practice” and diversifying the team’s set of events. Support the team at their next meet on March 21 against Piedmont Hills!
