How to Make The Best Butter Pasta

By Kaia Costa

As high school students, we often find it difficult to juggle our time between homework, sports, clubs, or any other extracurricular activities you may participate in. My favorite meal to cram into my busy schedule—whether that be before a field hockey game, after softball practice, or while doing my AP World History notes—is my 10 minute butter pasta! Here’s what I do 🙂

  1. Select your pasta of choice! I highly recommend angel hair, or penne.
  2. Boil some water in a pot, and salt the water. Do not add olive oil!! It will only make the pasta slippery.
  3. Cook pasta in boiling water according to the directions on the box.
  4. Strain your pasta, and make sure you keep ½ cup of the excess pasta water.
  5. Keep the stove on low heat, and mix in the pasta water and 1 ½ tbsp of butter.
  6. Season!! I use garlic power, a pinch of salt, pepper, and Kinder’s Lemon Butter Garlic seasoning. Measure with your heart!
  7. Turn the stove off, and mix in a little bit of parmesan cheese. Let it melt!
  8. Pour your pasta into a bowl, and add more parmesan on top! (I recommend the BelGioioso Cheese Freshly Grated Parmesan, it melts the best)
  9. Mix and enjoy while it’s hot!
