How to Make a Vision Board

By Juliette Guyman

For those who do not know, a vision board is a collage of images and words that acts as an inspirational vision for what is to come. Vision boards are most commonly used at the beginning of every year to show a goal or multiple goals that you wish to accomplish by the end of the year. By following these easy steps below, you can make your own vision board to represent your goals for 2026!

First, a good base is essential. I would recommend using a sturdy foam board so that it is easy to glue images or attach extra stickers or charms without them falling off. Using foam also allows your vision board to hang easily upon a wall without worry that it may fall off. These can commonly be found at craft stores like Micheal’s, Office Depot, or Target.

Next, go through whatever platform you find most convenient for your vision board contents, look for images or inspirational quotes, and save all of the photos to your device. To make these images more personalized, you can even edit them in easy editing apps, my personal favorite being Canva.

To print these images, there are many paths to take. The easiest option is to (again, Canva works perfectly) arrange your photos on a printable sized online document, with 8.5×11 inches being the standard printing size, then download the document, and print them on a printer available to you. You can then cut them out, or fully construct your vision board on Canva and be done after you print it! Another option for higher quality images is to get your photos printed from a company like CVS or Walgreens, which usually come with a glossy finish. These photos are also going to be thicker, so a stronger glue may be needed to attach them to your board.

Finally, when you have all the different parts needed, grab some glue and start assembling. There is no wrong way to arrange your images or words. Once you have all your images glued on and want to contribute even more to your vision board, adding stickers, adhesive beads or gems, and charms can connect everything together. Last but not least, enjoy making your vision board!
