Join CASL!

By Blake Kim

The California Association of Student Leaders, also known as CASL, is the nationally recognized student leadership program for California. Our goal is to train, equip, and motivate the student leaders through local, regional, and statewide leadership events. At the regional level, CASL participates and presents at the CADA (California Association of Directors of Activities) Area Conferences, which are full-day conferences, teaching workshops, and speeches. Meanwhile, at the statewide level, we host the annual CASL State Conference for student leaders of California.

Applications for the CASL board are currently out! Applications and guidebooks are on the cada1.org website (cada1.org/casl), and they close on February 9th at 4 pm.  Another opportunity CASL provides, in addition to running for the board, is becoming a Meet the Pros presenter! A Meet the Pros presenter gets the opportunity to teach a group of students about any skill or event they’ve become experienced in. Some Meet the Pros presentations have included spirit days, fundraisers, or other unique school activities. The program is an amazing way to not only gain new ideas from other people’s experiences, but also to share your own and allow others to take back what you’ve taught. Apply!

If you have any questions about getting involved or doing the application, do not hesitate to ask me, Shivansh Kelkar, or Mrs. Saldaña any questions regarding attending CASL, running for the board, or participating in Meet the Pros.
