Where did you go to high school?
I went to two different high schools, The Lawrenceville School and Kingswood Oxford.
What was your school’s mascot?
Wyvern and Big Red.
When did you graduate?
1987.
What was your favorite class in high school and why?
English, because it gave me the freedom of interpretation and art. I spent a lot of time trying to pursue Honors Art since art was my first love.
What was your most challenging class and why?
Chemistry and math, because I had poor foundations and not the best study habits.
What extracurricular activities were you involved in?
Yearbook editor (that was the big one because it took a lot of time), Spanish club (for a short time), soccer, ski team (captain), and lacrosse.
What was your favorite extracurricular activity and why?
Skiing, because you could ski during school, and lacrosse.
Who were your favorite bands/artists/songs while in high school?
The Grateful Dead—it was the time period.
What was your favorite TV show in high school?
Mash and Family Ties.
What was your favorite novel?
The Sun Also Rises. I also loved To Kill a Mockingbird.
What was your favorite movie while in high school?
This is a tough one, but Out of Africa.
What are your favorite memories of high school?
I had a lot of trouble in high school, so honestly, school itself because I wasn’t at home.
What is your least favorite memory of high school?
The pressure to do extremely well—I went to prep school.
What time did school start and end?
It started around 7:00 AM and ended around 4:30–5:00 PM.
What was your GPA?
Roughly around 2.8-2.7.
Did you receive any awards?
Captain of the ski team.
How did you get to school (if you drove, what kind of car)?
I got rides, and later I drove, but one of the cars I had was a 1979 Volkswagen Scirocco.
Did you ever have to go to the dean’s or principal’s office? Why?
YES! I did! I had a discipline problem, trouble!
