From implementing egregious tariffs to rolling out a red carpet for Putin, Trump has certainly secured his place as one of the worst, and definitely most unique, presidents in the history of the United States. Starting off his presidency strong, Trump imposed extremely high tariffs on imports from Mexico, China, and Canada—because that would definitely help the economy. To the surprise of no one—except maybe MAGA?—the tariffs did not help the economy, but rather led to higher prices (inflation) and lower employment (because corporations had to make up their losses somehow). Then, since the tariffs apparently didn’t gain enough attention, Trump participated in a very public Twitter feud with Elon Musk—his former hubby. Elon was so very dear to Trump that he held a Tesla convention at the White House for him. The feud, which was centered around the Epstein Files, was shocking to the world since just a couple of weeks earlier, Trump and Elon had been acting as chummy as a newlywed couple. More recently, in late August, Trump had soldiers of the United States roll out a red carpet (I wish I were exaggerating) for Putin during a meeting arranged by President Trump to negotiate a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. And finally, Trump has demolished the east wing of the White House in order to construct a ballroom of all things—because there is obviously nothing more important for him to be doing as president of the United States. Evidently, Trump has more than earned his spot as the Turkey of the year.
