Wow For Water

By Ray Chang

When I ask people what they are thankful for they usually say friends, family, and all those sweet and sentimental things. Do not get me wrong, I myself wholeheartedly cherish my friends and family because of their indispensable and everlasting support. Water pumps life into me—both physically and figuratively—and I will never take it for granted, for the simple 3 atoms found in each H2O molecule has and will forever continue to provide me with absolute satisfaction.

As childish as it sounds, I find water to be delicious. Water may appear bland and unappetizing on the surface, but that is the exact characteristic of the esoteric liquid that many people take for granted. Imagine you just finished a grueling practice at whatever sport you invest yourself in, and you do not hear anything swish or swirl in your precious water bottle. I guarantee you the taste of water after you refill your water bottle and chug the seemingly “bland” liquid is a transcendent experience that will certainly enlighten both your dry throat and dopamine receptors. I myself humbly admit to experiencing the mercy of water when dehydration has defeated me. Thus, I will forever show gratitude to water and all the reinvigorating effects the simple liquid has on not only hydration but mindfulness.
