I walk to school with a poem due
Writers block binds me and I haven’t a clue
What to write, until I take a bite
Processed pastry elates me
Frosting, sprinkles, and strawberry filling
Suddenly full of ideas
The sweet treat’s instilling
Inspire me, Pop-Tart
Ever since I was a kid I liked art
Creating’s one of my favorite parts
Of living
But sometimes I’m not thinking
Ideas, they aren’t coming. So,
Inspire me, Pop-Tart
I Emphasized the creative part,
with my classes
Used to hobbies happening on my time
But now my ideas have deadlines
Overstretching my creative side
All the things I must get out in time
Film projects: for class
And articles for the school newspaper
Ideas better come now or I’ll pay for it later
And for theatre, I’ll stuff my head
With nonstop lines to be memorized
Gotta make a scary short film for a 100 eyes
Inspiration wears thin, inspire me, Pop-Tart,
Keep it alive.
