Eternally Hating Ticketmaster

By Gio Arteaga

Let me set the scene: it was bright and early at 10 am, like millions of other fans, on the fateful morning of September 9, 2025, in a war; it was an uphill battle—to which there were millions of bots—which looked promising, that we would win this war for our queen, but ended in my and Mia Keller’s demise. I am angry, not at Ariana (because she’s awesome), but over the Ticketmaster platform, because WHY WAS I 10,000 IN LINE… AND STILL GOT BEAT FOR A TICKET!!

Even after being in pre-sale and general sale, I blame this on two things: people’s greed and the fact that the concert was in Oakland, because while I understand Ariana doesn’t feel comfortable, she could have gone to an arena with more than 20,000 people. The amount that tickets are reselling for now is absolutely ridiculous: 400 dollars for seats that cost 77 dollars, which I find unacceptable, and so did Ariana.

Ariana Grande came out with a statement on her Instagram addressing the issues regarding the resale and said her team is working on it, and let’s hope so. I will give updates on whether I secure tickets, but until then, I’m depressed, alone, and without a ticket.
