Happy Lemon Taste-Test

By Maya Bourne and Delaney Pound

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Happy Lemon Taste-Test! If you’re new, this is a series we do on the Eats page where we go to Happy Lemon, order new drinks, and review them. The goal is to expand our range of drink orders we have so we don’t order the same thing every time. Here is what we got this time!

Maya Bourne:

Order: Thai Tea with Boba

Rating: 3/10

This drink was truly disgusting. I say this as someone whose go-to order is a thai tea with boba. The tea itself had a somewhat sour, salty flavor, as if salted cheese had been added. In addition, the tea tasted… thick? It had an almost powdery aftertaste that wouldn’t leave your mouth for several minutes after. I was incredibly disappointed with this drink, and would absolutely not recommend it to anyone else.

Delaney Pound:

Order: Roasted Okinawa Milk Tea w/ Boba

Rating: 7.5/10

WOW! I’m very happy I tried this drink! It definitely wasn’t the best thing I have ever had, but for a milk tea, I think it was pretty good. This is my regular order from Sharetea, a different boba place, and I wasn’t expecting much. I would probably reorder this if I’m ever in the milk tea mood, but otherwise, it’s just okay. At the first sip, it tasted a bit like matcha, which made me uncomfortable, but it got better the more I tried it. Anyways! I recommend this drink to anyone who enjoys milk teas or okinawa in general, but as someone who is lactose intolerant, perhaps don’t order this if you don’t know you like it.
