Although cracking open a textbook on a Friday night may not seem like the most exciting way to spend your time, it’s important to invest in your future. As high schoolers, our next step is what comes after we graduate; for many of us that means college. In a world where college applications are getting increasingly competitive, you’ll wish you had spent a little more time investing in your future. Those late nights spent studying and early morning cram sessions will hopefully pay off with an acceptance letter from your dream school. Although nothing is guaranteed, it’s important to remember that the effort you put in now has an effect on the results you’ll receive in the future. So while staying up late to finish assignments feels horrible and useless in the moment, maybe one day you’ll thank your past self for pushing through and investing in your future.
