By Mia Hanuska
it’s lonely to be alone, sometimes
i huddle my legs closer
becoming a ball
salty tears drip
drip
dripping
leaving marks on my comforter
it’s lonely to be alone, i whisper to myself
i stare at my watch
counting the minutes
the hands circle
and circle
and circle
waiting for a notification
it’s lonely to be alone, when you’re gone
i restlessly scroll
wasting precious hours
on my phone swipe
swipe
swiping
until you wake up again
