The Chromakopia tour, featuring next-to-perfect tracks, has taken over worldwide, as Tyler the Creator tours hundreds of cities in hopes of changing lives. On March 5, 2025, I watched the Chromakopia Tour, and it was the best night of my life. Accompanied by Shivansh Kelkar, Elle Seguin, Regan Steele, Ava Spajic, and Myles Morman, I excitedly drove to Chase Center and pitched the idea of getting lunch. We went to GOTT’S, and while overpriced, filled our stomachs with nutritiously greasy food. Afterward, we waited in line and bought Chromakopia merchandise, reminding us of Tyler, the Creator’s prowess as an artist. Since we went early, we secured an ideal spot in the numbered line and were among the first few people on the floor. After two amazing openers, Texas Paris and Lil Yachty, Tyler, the Creator emerged from a familiar green box, with the sound of marching behind him. Song after song, my friends and I screamed every lyric, moshing to “New Magic Wand” and swaying to “Like Him.” Tyler, the Creator, was intentional with every part of the performance, hand-picking vinyl and placing it on records, signifying the albums he would play. Chromakopia completely changed my life and was an experience I would not trade for the world. The highlight of the night was when I barked at him, and he looked at me and barked back.
Isa: As a long-time fan, I was overjoyed when I finally got the chance to attend one of Tyler, The Creator’s shows. Actually, overjoyed is an understatement—when I arrived at the Chromakopia Tour (which I attended with Sohum Baluja and Logan Mendelson), I was excited beyond words. From the signature Kelly green theme of his main stage to his meticulously planned setlist, every aspect of the concert was a dream come true. I especially appreciated the casual ambiance of his “house” set across from the main Chromakopia stage, which gave a personal feel to the performance. As the night progressed, Tyler switched out the vinyls for each of his unique albums and took the audience on a nostalgic trip through his discography. My favorites were selections from his albums Igor and Cherry Bomb. Although only featured as a shortened version, I passionately screamed along to the lyrics of “Smuckers”, and had the time of my life dancing along to “I Think” and “New Magic Wand”. I almost cried when I saw the gold shower of sparks and heard the intro to “Balloon”, nearly losing my voice singing Doechii’s verse. Overall, I had an incredible time with some of the best live music I’ve ever seen, plus left with some awesome merch. 10/10 concert experience, I’m so grateful that I got the opportunity to see one of my favorite artists with some of the people closest to me in my life.
