Westmont’s boys’ soccer team made history this season with an impressive league record of 11-2-1 in the BVAL Mt. Hamilton division, securing first place and earning a spot in the CCS Open Division bracket. In the first round of CCS, the Warriors claimed a 3-1 victory over Menlo-Atherton but fell 2-0 to Bellarmine College Prep in the semifinals. However, their season didn’t end there. The team advanced to the NorCal State Quarterfinals, where they fought hard in a close 3-2 loss against Pitman.

Although they fell short of their ultimate goals, the Warriors have plenty to be proud of. This season marked the first time in program history that Westmont made the Open Division playoffs (reserved for the top eight teams in CCS) and qualified for the NorCal State Championships. Led by league MVP Kota Brown, the team pushed past their limits to achieve remarkable success. Reflecting on the season, sophomore Adriano Irias shares, “The team this year was full of unforgettable memories. For the first time in Westmont soccer history, we qualified for States and reached the CCS Open Division semifinals.” Westmont is incredibly proud of this historic achievement and looks forward to what the future holds for the Warriors with Coach Matthew Schembri
