As the Wrestling season comes to an end, the team looks back at yet another successful regular season, this year, and for the first time ever, at the top of the Blossom Valley Athletic Lagues’s “A” Division. Now, with the post-season approaching, Richard Vega, a senior on the Westmont team, looks to push the intensity in the Wrestling room and develop the impenetrable mindset needed to succeed at the Varsity Wrestling Lague Championships. His inexplicably smooth style and focused demeanor have led him to place 7th at Fountain Valley High School’s tournament, Five Counties, and win Morro Bay High School’s, California Invitational Tournament. Westmont’s spirit also shines through first-year wrestler Marlon Luciano Vasquez’s ability to come one match away from placing at one of the toughest tournaments in California, the California Invitational Tournament. After a season of fun, hard work, and the formation of unbreakable lifelong bonds, the Westmont team bands together one more time this season against Leigh High School to send seniors, Rochelle Lai, Richard Vega, Marlon Luciano Vasquez, Joseph Liebert, Michael James Winters, and Jordan Sasdieh off to their future beyond the Westmont Wrestling room’s supporting walls.
