Describe your style in three words:
“Trendy, Vibrant, Me.”
Who is/are your fashion icons?
“Vivienne Westwood, Dolly Parton, and Miss Piggy.”
What is a go-to item in your closet?
“Levi’s Jean, just anything with the brand Levi’s.”
Where do you get your clothes from?
“I shop at thrift stores, and Urban Outfitters, mainly. And my mom makes clothes for me. She’s a fashion designer. She’s made all of my Homecoming and Prom dresses.”
What is a fashion trend you love?
“Mixing metals, like wearing gold and silver. If it’s done properly.”
What is a fashion trend you hate?
“Athletic wear when you’re not working out.”
What are some fashion tips you have?
“Wear some bad outfits, so that the good ones are really good. Wear one bad outfit per week, and if it’s gonna be bad, make sure it’s comfortable. I’m also so serious–figure out your color palette. Find three colors that look really good on you—that bring out your eyes and features and all that.
Bad outfit example: Sweatpants and a hoodie. I mean, I don’t look stunning, but what will I wear tomorrow? Never let them know your next move.
Will you pursue fashion in the future? If not, give us details?
I will not be pursuing fashion in the future, but I’m really interested in film. I’m really interested in fashion in filmmaking, and I think that costuming is an element of filmmaking that goes underappreciated. There’s a reason there’s an Oscar for Best Costume.
Anything to say to the aspiring fashionistas in the audience?
Jewelry makes any outfit better. If you want your outfit to be better, wear lots of jewelry, and it will look better.
