College Focus: Santa Clara University

By Carter Cormier

Santa Clara University – a mere 10-minute drive from Westmont — is a four-year non-profit ranked 63 in National Universities. The tuition cost is around 60k, while the average need-based aid package is worth 43k. With a beautiful campus, the university reeled in 3 Westmont students last year. Fun fact: Santa Clara University started as an all-boys preparatory college, and later after incorporating college courses and law/engineering schools, morphed into what is now known as Santa Clara University. You can find the college’s YouTube channel here.

High schoolers entering SCU have an average 1410 SAT score and an unweighted GPA of 3.73. Last year, with around 18,000 applicants and 8,000 acceptances, SCU had a 44 % acceptance rate.
