Westmont High’s dance team has become a staple in the Westmont community; we collectively recognize the talent, dedication, and energy they bring to every performance. For years, they’ve gotten the crowd’s attention with their halftime routines at football games, turning the field into a stage and giving life to a game that some people don’t get.
Behind the scenes, dancers such as Lou Derand, a junior who’s been on the dance team for three years, goes into depth on the work the team does by saying, “As a dancer, we spend countless hours practicing and perfecting our routines that everyone will get to see, and we hope everyone sees the amount of work we put into every single routine.” They work hard to make every performance look effortless, from learning choreography to creating a palpable energy. Their commitment is a true testament to what teamwork and perseverance can achieve.
To the Westmont High dance team: thank you for your hard work, passion, and dedication. You remind us all of the power of creativity and determination. Keep dancing, and know that your school is behind you every step of the way!
