Since the beginning of this school year, the Twist-and-Go smoothies at break have been my mid-morning snack of choice. As of late, however, the repetition of the same mango banana flavor has almost swayed me to try something new. Luckily, the food managers have heard my unspoken cries and released a brand new flavor for me to enjoy: strawberry and something else. Waiting in line for a snack, my eyes landed upon a discrepancy in the usual array of items. I saw a distinctly different color on my beloved smoothies, and I knew instantly I was in for a treat. I ecstatically asked the server for a smoothie, and I tell you it did not disappoint. Only having tasted this novelty item once, I cannot recall the actual flavor—only its pleasant taste breaking up the monotony of mango. Although both are delicious, variation to my current cycle means more to me than this school will ever know. I am truly grateful for the new flavor, and I hope the kitchen decides to rotate between the two, switching it up every day or two in order to keep my (and other students’) taste buds refreshed. (And maybe even add a third flavor, perhaps something with blueberry).
