Hello and welcome back to food reviews with me and my bestie Sadie Evans! In this issue, we will be reviewing a personal classic and favorite spot of ours for casual yet awesome (and incredibly fresh!) food—Falafel’s Drive-In, a family-owned business that has been serving the San Jose area since 1966. Located on Stevens Creek Boulevard, the middle eastern restaurant is the perfect place for an affordable lunch or dinner that always satisfies our cravings.
And now, here’s our conjecture on both of our usual meals:
Sadie’s order: Falafel daily special
Falafel Drive In’s “Daily Special” is my “happy meal”. There’s a reason this combo gets its own window space alongside the menu: the falafel sandwich and banana milkshake make the most perfect duo. These are some of the restaurant’s most popular items, and it’s easy to see why. Soft pita bread stuffed to the brim with fresh veggies and crispy, hand-made falafel, topped with a token hot sauce. The sandwich demands a drink to go along with it, and Falafel Drive In’s creamy banana milkshake with real, ripe bananas pairs flawlessly. Together, they make a meal that just about anyone can enjoy – but I have to say, it’s especially perfect for any non-meat eater (such as myself) who’s looking to satisfy a craving for fast food. The Daily Special will forever be a 10/10 for me!

Ah, the signature daily special, one of my all-time favorite combos to indulge in when hunger strikes. To begin, this meal is the perfect combination of sweet and savory, featuring soft, warm pita and falafel, fresh tomato, cucumber, and spicy sauce alongside a refreshing banana milkshake. Portion wise, it leaves the customer satisfied yet not overly full. The best part of this drive-in is most definitely how fresh and delectable their food is, outstanding quality easily recognizable in every bite. The presence of a healthy and delicious version of fast food nearby is a godsend. I have to agree with Sadie, 10/10! I just can’t imagine our hangouts without the times we’ve treated ourselves to Falafel Drive-In’s impeccable special.
