A Man’s Best Friend

By Bennett Kelly

You are there when I’m happy,

There when I’m sad,

There when I’m sick,

There when I’m mad.

You make my troubles go away,

You are there to keep the demons at bay.

I miss our walks spent together,

Out in the world,

No matter the weather.

I miss your kisses waking me up,

Way back when you were a pup.

If I had time to make a pick,

It would be a day with you, chasing a stick.

And if I got to always choose,

I would be Weston, not me,

Picking up your poos.
