Dare I say life-changing? That is what I would describe the Zach Bryan concert as. Going to that concert might have been one of the best moments of my life.
I attended the Zach Bryan Quittin’ Time Tour with my sister, Melania Metanovic. We went to the Sacramento date at the Golden One Center on November 29th. We drove up to Sacramento and stayed in a hotel after the show. Our hotel was about a four-minute walk from the venue, so getting to and from the venue from our hotel was quite an easy experience. The venue itself was nice; when we arrived in Sacramento, we stopped at a Chipotle right next to it, and to our surprise, merchandise was already being sold. So, instead of having to wait in a merch line for 30 minutes to an hour while we got to the concert, we got what we wanted before. I had gotten a creme hoodie with photo drawings of Zach Bryan and his bandmates on the front with the tour dates on the back, and my sister got a black shirt with the tour dates on the back and a small little emblem on the front. Once we got into the venue, finding our seats was very easy. Overall, everything about the venue was nice except for the $9 water my sister bought, which was simply outrageous for a small water bottle.
Now to get into the fun stuff—the actual concert itself. Zach Bryan opened with his infamous song “Overtime”, which gets the whole crowd going and ends with a long version of one of his most popular songs, “Revival” where he allows each one of his band members to have a solo in. Everything in between was quite magical too. Some of my favorite songs he played included “East Side of Sorrow” and “Open the Gate”. My sister’s favorites were “Revival” and “Condemned”. Zach Bryan’s stage presence is truly insane; he has four microphones set up around each side of the stage. By doing so, he evenly distributed his time to each mic to ensure that everyone in the crowd had an equal opportunity to see him. Plus, the way that he includes everyone in his band to have their moments was remarkable to see.
Going from first listening to Zach Bryan with my sister three years ago to now being able to say I got to see him live with her is something I will never forget. I am forever grateful that I allowed myself to give country music another shot and let my sister convince me to listen to it.
With the recent controversies circulating about Zach Bryan, I was a little concerned to be seeing him live. I do not agree with any of the accusations he has against him, and I do not believe that anything he has been said to do is okay in any way. I am still extremely thankful that I was able to experience his music with my sister because we bought these tickets over a year ago. His music is something that has brought us together, and even though I don’t agree with him as a person, I still enjoy his music and would say that the concert was an amazing experience.
